There is emerging evidence that mobile based therapy can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy. An article published by peer-reviewed journal mHealth this year analysed the performance of a range of apps for depression, anxiety and schizophrenia. It found that apps can help significantly reduce depressive symptoms, providing the greatest benefits for people with mild to moderate depression. Its findings also suggested those using anxiety-focused mobile apps became less anxious, with larger effects when paired with in-person therapy.
Hypnosis isn't a therapy in its own right, hypnosis is typically integrated with other psychotherapeutic treatments, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) or interpersonal therapy (IPT). A meta-analysis of 18 different studies comparing CBT along with CBT plus hypnosis found that using hypnosis with CBT improved the effectiveness of the treatment for 75% of study participants.
